Kristin's Fund Gala Postponed Due to Concerns About Health Risks

March 11, 2020

Kristin's Fund Board of Directors has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation with concerned and watchful eyes. With heavy hearts and after much consideration for the well-being of our guests, we have regretfully decided to postpone our 4th Annual Kristin's Fund Gala. We strongly feel that we owe it to our community to be vigilant and protect those who are vulnerable.

We have consulted with doctors and specialists in the field, as well as reviewed guidelines being set by corporate and governmental agencies throughout NY State and the rest of the country. Our conclusion is that the risk of potentially spreading and or exposing our attendees to the virus outweighed the benefit of holding the Gala at this time. New York State is already under a State of Emergency, schools and companies are making plans to follow "stay at home" guidelines, so we are taking that approach as well.

While this might seem to be an extreme measure to some, we have guests who come to the Gala from all parts of the country, including areas where the virus has spread further than it has in upstate NY. Additionally, many of guests are in the "most vulnerable" category.

We will be refunding ticket sales and will be contacting sponsors and donors individually. Turning Stone will cancel all rooms in the room block as part of the cancelled event. Other room reservations should be cancelled by phone call.

We realize that many of you have shopped for dresses and suits and made appointments to be gala-ready. We are incredibly sorry for any and all inconvenience and share in your disappointment.
